Hi,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] a écrit :
I have recently started to receive some Microsoft Word 2008 documents with the
extension .docx.
Bad file format. When someone send me such, I systematically return it
asking for a better one :-)
When I read this documents on my Linux Ubuntu machine with OpenOffice,
then there is no problem. Double clicking on the downloaded .docx is automatically recognized in the Ubuntu (Hardy Heron) OpenOffice.
.. because you're probably using Novell code in Ubuntu version.
When I read this document on my MAX 10.4, then I cannot get OpenOffice to open
this document. MAC OS is downloading this attachment as a ZIP file and not
.docx.
Is that where the problem lies?
Do you mean the " .zip " extension is systematically added ? If so,
just rename the file you received and let us know what happens (I doubt
it will work on Mac OS X, just in case .. )
And if I'm not wrong, Ubuntu version is probably ooo-build, using Novell
code. A part of this code is not in official OpenOffice.org tree (don't
ask me why, this is too complicated for me ;-) )

Eric Bachard
