i have fixed the Python problem on Mac OS X. I have to do some checks on
the other platforms but you can expect it at least in OO.org 3.1 maybe
already in 3.0.1.
Next step should be the upgrade to Python 2.5 (cws python25). On Mac i
already use it because there is the system Python used. Will take a look
on it when somebody has migrated the cws to svn ;-)

Python is still a little bit unmaintained. I simply suggest that you
take the responsibility for Python. The integration of Python 2.5 is
ongoing for a long time now. If the responsible people don't communicate
try it again or start working on it on your own. Try to ask first and
if no response just do it on your own.
Important is that you take it seriously. Ideally do it for all the major
platforms. There is no real QA for Python etc. So you can start with QA
or can directly start with the maintenance.
I would really like to see somebody who feel responsible for Python.
Will do or at least organize QA and will take care that Python works in
new releases.

With EuroOffice Extension Creator you can develop an extension while
OpenOffice.org is running. For example you have created a dialog box,

in OpenOffice.org (you do not even need to close the dialog box). With
this I hope we can attract more Python developers to OpenOffice.org.
And I will gladly fix the current dlopen issue too myself, if you
think I should. (Though I do not know much about how dlopen works on a
Mac.)
Also if we phrased the situation on the download page of the patcher
in a way that you dislike, let me know and we'll rewrite it. Though I
hope this is not the case.
