local disk, it appears okay." I'm not sure what s/he meant by "for the
home directory" but I was able to save onto the desktop of my
daughter's iBook G4 in the other room ...

I'm thinking, maybe the difference is between an "AFP server" (<expose
completeIgnorance> I don't know what that is </expose>) and what I did,
which was to simply mount the drive of another computer on my
home-office LAN and save to the desktop of an account on that computer.
In Bug 94333 someone mentioned they would crash when saving to an "AFP
server" but not during a local save. I don't know if a Save/Save As ...
to a mounted drive account's home directory would be "local" or "server"...
... and do not have a server on which to test unless someone can provide
me with an IP address & log-in info for one.
