In the meantime with the help and support of a teacher at a school which has OOo on their macs and his admin I was able to reproduce an OOo crash when using an afp share which isn't always connected when trying to save a document to it or even when trying to save a documet to the local Desktop or hdd. It seems as if it's sufficient enough to have used an afp share previously in order to crash OOo. Since I have no access to an afp network and if I could I would only have Intel Macs to test the project here relays on the help of volunteers such as you and the ones I mentioned above.
So by any chance do your crashes also occure when accessing a(n afp) network
share?
Yes, the crashes occur only when accessing the afp network volume, local hard disks including internal and external firewire hard disk are fine. I also tried mounting a shared volume from another Mac over the network, accessing to it is fine too. It seems to me that this is something related to afp.
Late december/early january I hope to get an iMac G5 so that I can test OOo
native on PowerPC.
