Public key authentication is possible with MacFusion. I use it all the
time!
To do so, simply set up sshkeychain (google for the link) on your mac.
This is a GUI ssh-agent that will keep your keys and their passphrases
in keychain.
MacFusion will "just work" with it, if you select the correct
authentication mode when you set up a macfusion mount.
