Thanks for your reply. So if I understand this correctly, there is no
way for a read-only MacFUSE filesystem to notify listening kqueues of
changes from within, because the only way to cause those kevents to be
sent is by writing to the filesystem using normal system calls?

Also, is there any way to appeal to the Finder's strange logic for
recognising kqueue? I have a few ideas for 'live' filesystems which
would greatly benefit.
