Check if what you're looking at is what you installed, and what you
installed is what you downloaded. Not to say this would be the case
with your installation, but it's far too common for people to install
MacFUSE from like, ten different sources (the "official" project site,
fink, macports, some ntfs-3g "suite", Parallels, self-compiled, ...).
Then they get confused and seek support on this site. Are you *sure*
you don't have any such complications?

If you don't have a /Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/Support
subdirectory, you don't really have any useful MacFUSE components--
even the MacFUSE kernel extension comes from that subdirectory. What
*do* you have within /Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs then? Look for an
Info.plist file in there somewhere. What's the version number in the
Info.plist?
