Hello,

I just installed the newest macFUSE & NTFS-3G on my Mac Pro running
Leopard 10.5.1 and got all my drives seen properly. Now I'm trying to
figure out how to turn off .DS_Store, .Trashes etc etc because when I
browse to the Windows Side, my drives get all gummed up with MAC
related material. I don't care about searching NTFS drives/files in
finder or spotlight, I would like clean better. WinXP still is
primary over OS X for the time being, but I'm liking OS X.

I know what your thinking, install BlackHarvest, well I did and the
author is working on serious patches for it because it is constantly
asking me for my password. I'm working with the author to get this
resolved but until then this may be a better solution, or at least
closer.

I want to use noappledouble & noapplexattr but I want to be able to
write files between NFTS & HFS+ without Finder prompting me for a
password. Hopefully invoking those two options will help clean my HDD
of OS X's lil files.

This is what I have found so far
Code:
sudo nano /System/Library/Filesystems/ntfs-3g.fs/ntfs-3g.util

go down about 10 pages and you'll see:

Code:
local OPTIONS="auto_xattr,defer_auth,defer_permissions"

Everytime I change this and I get asked for a password in Finder when
I copy a file to my NTFS Drives.

Can you help me with the correct string? Am I in the right spot? Right
file? Help?

Recap, I don't want OS X to write anything to my NTFS disk besides the
files I copy. .DS_Store, .Trashes etc etc. I'm just looking for a
set of options that you think will work the best for me. And just
making sure I know where to put these options listed on macFUSE
website.

Thanks!
~Aaron
