I'm trying to mount an ext3-formatted drive on my MacBook Pro running
OS 10.5.3.

Advice I got involves installing MacFUSE, but I can't seem to
accomplish that.

I have downloaded the MacFUSE Core 10.5-1.5.1 disk image.
I have run the installer (twice now).
I have rebooted.

At this point the wiki, FAQ, and other instructions I have seen and my
experience completely part ways.

- I do not, as advertised, now have a function "mount_ext2" that
mounts Linux drives: command not found.
- I do not, as advertised, have a "/System/Library/Filesystems/fuse...
" directory.

- Spotlight cannot find any files or directories with "fuse" in the
name except /opt/local/var/macports/sources/rsync.macports.org/release/
ports/fuse/"

- I have downloaded sshfs.app, and run it, but, contrary to the
description, after I type in my password I do not get the remote
filesystem mounted on my Desktop. The application is completely
silent after accepting my password. My activity monitor shows an ssh
session, but I seem to have to way to access it.

I feel like I'm missing a key component to all of this that's so
obvious no one has bothered to mention it...

Any help appreciated. Thanks.
