Which wiki and FAQ are we talking about here? I don't "advertise" anything about ext2 on the MacFUSE documentation pages. Yes, you should be able to get the generic ext2-fuse code working on Mac OS X with MacFUSE, but it'll have to be a DIY thing. ext2-fuse isn't part of MacFUSE, and isn't supported here either. > - I do not, as advertised, have a "/System/Library/Filesystems/fuse... > " directory. If you read the advertisements carefully, you'll notice that MacFUSE installs under /Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/ on Leopard. The /System/ Library/... part applies to Tiger. > - Spotlight cannot find any files or directories with "fuse" in the Spotlight doesn't search in all system locations. > name except /opt/local/var/macports/sources/rsync.macports.org/release/ > ports/fuse/" If you're installing through macports etc., please do reports issues to the relevant maintainer(s). I can only offer support for the official MacFUSE distribution (the binaries available from this site.) > - I have downloaded sshfs.app, and run it, but, contrary to the > description, after I type in my password I do not get the remote > filesystem mounted on my Desktop. See Q3.4 here: http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/wiki/FAQ The sshfs.app GUI is merely a kludgy demo (that's why it's marked unsupported). What's happening is that the underlying sshfs binary is showing a Yes/No prompt (the kind that shows up when you login for the first time to a host, ... accept these keys/keys have changed ... etc.). You can login to the host through the command line once, and it should behave better. Or you can just use the command line sshfs application. Or you can get a supported GUI for sshfs (see macfusion). > I feel like I'm missing a key component to all of this that's so > obvious no one has bothered to mention it... Well...
