Hi Robert.

What do you expect to find in /usr/local/bin ? MacFUSE doesn't install 
anything there.
Check if you have the package receipt "/Libary/Receipts/MacFUSE 
Core.pkg". If you do you can list what files are supposed to have been 
installed by running the command:
    lsbom "/Library/Receipts/MacFUSE Core.pkg/Contents/Archive.bom"
...and then you can check whether or not these files exist.
