Since I had tried to reinstall with no success, I also wanted to make sure that I removed any residual files that might be interfering with a subsequent reinstall. But to your question about /usr/local/lib this is what I am seeing after running the installer: rns3Core2Duo:pkgconfig rns3$ ls -al /usr/local/lib total 0 drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Nov 12 15:49 . drwxr-xr-x 8 root wheel 272 Nov 12 15:27 .. drwxr-xr-x 2 root wheel 68 Nov 12 15:49 pkgconfig And the pkgconfig directory is empty. Id did the lsbom and none of the files listed there are installed on the machine.
