If I follow you correctly, the drive is formatted as NTFS? In which case this isn't a MacFUSE problem, you need to install the NTFS-3g drivers which utilise MacFUSE. MacFUSE is just a framework/library for FUSE filesystems, on its own it doesn't do much as you need a filesystem to make it useful. In this case look at the NTFS-3g project as it is more than likely able to help you out.
