A previous _official_ version should still be fine. I was talking about the possibility that you may have have a repackaged/unofficial MacFUSE installed. Those are unsupported from MacFUSE's standpoint. The typical reason the official uninstall mechanism fails is when it encounters some files or directories that it's unaware of. As a precaution, it doesn't remove things it doesn't know about. MacFUSE will not provide a script that deletes things based on loose matching or heuristics.
If you want to hunt for MacFUSE-related files manually, see Q 1.2 on the FAQ page: http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/wiki/FAQ An aside, which may not apply to you: Just so that you know, MacFUSE is not an "app" or a "daemon" or something that launches automatically at boot time or any other time. It's a bunch of libraries and headers and kernel extensions. It comes into play when some *other* application written using MacFUSE runs. Even the MacFUSE updater only runs when explicitly asked. Of course, you should be able to remove all traces of MacFUSE from your system if you want, but you needn't worry about MacFUSE somehow affecting your system in mysterious ways. In the past, people have come here for support because MacFUSE "somehow", according to their firm belief, did the following: * Messed up with the computer's firmware * Affected up the display driver * Affected wireless networking * Affected other file systems * Slowed down the computer's overall speed * Caused car trouble or migraines, and sometimes both simultaneously * Etc. The "obvious" evidence people usually have for such things is that "It happened *right after*" they installed MacFUSE. Amit On Jan 30, 12:09 pm, pattern86 <[email protected]> wrote: > Thank you.
