People on the list probably know this already.

Creating (as root, with sudo)
/etc/fstab
with an entrty like

LABEL=MyExternalDisk none ntfs rw

makes this ntfs disk accessible for read and write.
No guarantees, but so far it has worked for me.
Can anybody comment on this?
