Open the Terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal) and type the following to clean out all MacFUSE files:

rm -rf "/Library/Application Support/Developer/Shared/Xcode/Project Templates/MacFUSE" /System/Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs /Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs /Library/Frameworks/MacFUSE.framework /usr/local/include/fuse /usr/local/include/fuse.h /usr/local/lib/libfuse* /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/fuse.pc /Library/PreferencePanes/MacFUSE.prefPane /var/db/receipts/com.google.macfuse.* "/Library/Receipts/MacFUSE
Core.pkg" /Library/Receipts/MacFUSE.pkg

After doing this, attempt a reinstall. Hopefully it will work.

It is possible. I setup this iMac by restoring from my old machine.
And if this is the case, what should I do? I have tried uninstalling
MacFuse from System Preferences and then reinstalling, but that
doesn't help. Maybe there is an old signature sitting somewhere. How
can i completely wipe out MacFuse and start all over again?

Thanks!

Was the machine updated from an earlier version of OS X which was also
running MacFuse?
