MacFUSE 2.1.5 (beta) noted in the 'Additional information' section of Wuala issue 2522. That 2.1.5 beta was probably official. (Wuala aside: I occasionally experimented with other builds, including a 2.1.7 other than Benjamin's. AFAIR my most recent installation of a 2.1.5 beta was through the preference pane (and I guess that installations through all currently known versions of the pane are always official).) At http://bugs.wuala.com/view.php?id=2522#c6991 I have added a note re: 64-bit MacBook Pro, 32-bit kernel and extensions. > If you are using the default 32 bit kernel the locking mechanisms > implemented by Tuxera would not be tested, since they are only used > (in fact required) for MacFUSE to work with the 64 bit kernel. > > It would be nice if someone could test the combination of MacFUSE, > Snow Leopard's 64bit kernel and third-party fuse-filesystems. For test purposes I already have Mac OS X Server 10.6.4 in a VM hosted (on the same MacBook) by VirtualBox 3.2.10 r66523. Previously the VM was not 32-bit. This morning I switched the VM to 64-bit (screen shot at <http://www.wuala.com/grahamperrin/public/2010/10/18/a>) … whilst the OS starts and runs, its System Profiler still reports "No" to 64-bit kernel. So, I aim to: 1. in the guest VM, perform a clean installation of the OS — resulting, I guess, in 'virtualised 64-bit kernel and extensions' — (assuming that the 32-bit kernel of my MacBook Pro host does not prevent that) 2. install ProtectMac AntiVirus and Wuala 3. test Benjamin's 2010-10-17 build of MacFUSE 2.1.7 for both: 3.1 reliability of mounts (Wuala issue 2522) 3.2 resilience and accuracy, during and after continuous file activity. > Amit's post "Some Answers" which can be found at > http://groups.google.com/group/macfuse/browse_thread/thread/97951b355e57db56 > In the last paragraph titled > "Custom-compiled MacFUSE under a 64-bit kernel?"
