It's not clutter - it's anti-spam. If you get a signed message from me, you'll know for sure it is from me. If you get one which is unsigned (except for on this mailing list), it could be from me, or it could be from a spammer whose spider found my email address on the web, or from a virus on some Windoze machine who found my email in someone's Entourage addresses.
