I have a 266 tray load Imac with 96 megs of memory.

When I bought this machine, it wouldn't connect, so I bought another
56k internal modem, only to find out the original wasn't connected.

I installed the new one along with a 40 gig hard drive that I had
originally partitioned for my sons Beige G3. First 7 for OS X and it is
updated to 10.2.8

I have ran the modem updaters and also tried some modem strings. ( one
list member gave me a link from when he had similar problems) I also
tried an external usb Global Village 56k modem and it doesn't seem to
notice it, even though one time I got it to connect from earthlink to
receive dial up numbers.

I replaced the phone cord, which I suspect was giving me trouble at one
time, and even ran the phone line to my blue and whites phone line,
still no connection.

Has anyone had a similar problem with an Imac (tray load)?

Thanks

Steve Brown
