I took the advice of raising the height of the router and the connection is better. I will check out Radio Shack. Also, there is a 7.0dbi Omni Antenna that you can hook on the Linksys router and/or the PCI adapter card. Both are fairly cheap. We now have all 3 computers up and running on the wireless network.
The wireless network work somewhat okay until I added the WEP security, and we went through some more problems. Now we seem to be working okay. We will be trying to use the network a lot in the next few days to see if she gets kicked off any more. It seems there has been some problems with the WMP54G and signal strength according to Internet chat groups. We also had a devil of a time installing the drivers on the CD that came with the PCI card. We finally got it to install after I downloaded the driver from the Linksys site and burned a new cd. Dealing with her Dell has made me LOVE my MAC even more. Now if I could just win the lottery and buy a new G5, Airport Extreme base, etc...........
