I have one partition for OSX and all its apps, and another for my old OS9 and its apps. I told OSX to use my old OS9 for Classic, because it was chock full of hundreds of extensions for my old apps. So the installer did not install another clean OS9 on my OSX partition. If it had, I doubt many of my old programs would have worked, missing their extensions.
