For those of you that have been waiting for NeoOffice to be released for OS-X on your Mac, you can get it now as the beta 1.1 release candidate has been tossed out there to sink or swim (has all of the features of (OpenOffice.org V 1.1.4 but you do not need Apple's X11 installed to run it like you do for OO.o).
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22021 Jerry p.s. The "outer window" looks OS-X-like, but the inner stuff (the widgets) still has/have that unmistakable not OS-X-look to them. It is of course free, but it is a 118 MB download expanding out to around 380 MB, so those of you using dial-up may want to get a friend using broadband to snag a copy for you. Also, you can download many other languages to use with it, if you need more than the basic twenty or so it ships with. From the description: NeoOffice/J is a fully-featured set of office applications (including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and drawing programs) for Mac OS X. Based on the OpenOffice.org office suite, NeoOffice/J incorporates dozens of native Mac features and can import, edit, and exchange files with other popular office programs such as Microsoft Office. Unlike the Mac OS X release of OpenOffice.org, NeoOffice/J does not require the X11 windowing system. Released as free, open-source software under the GNU General Public License (GPL), NeoOffice/J is fully functional and stable enough for everyday use. The software is actively developed, and updates and improvements are available on a regular basis. What's new in this version: With this release, NeoOffice/J now supports all features in OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 including drag-and-drop between NeoOffice/J and other applications. ----------------------------------- Someday, I will come up with a clever signature line. I am not sure if I will use it or not, but I will come up with one. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
