I have happily been using compatible cartridges from http://inkjetsusa.com/
I chose the Stylus Color 880 because the Epson ink has a very minimal amount of chemical solvents compared to many other inks, and less chemical odor. It took several tries to find a compatable manufacturer who uses the exact same formula, or nearly so. Many others are strongly laced with alcohols and glycols. Everything has been just fine, but now I learn that there are supposed to be electrical contacts on the cartridges. There are none. I don't remember if there were any on the Epson cartridges. There is no difference in the operation of the ink level indicator with these cartridges. Jerry, am I missing something, or did I misunderstand?
