Umm, it may have been a combination of us both or someone else. I
mentioned the electrostatic charging of the cartridges, but I don't
recall whom mentioned the electrical contacts. The contacts (if you
have them) will be there or not depending on the printer you have. The
ones that have the cartridge as the print head would use them to "talk"
to the driver in the computer to get the information about printing the
page. The ones that have a separate print head don't use the contacts,
as they just use the cartridges as storage tanks.
