I'm using Appleworks 6.2.4 on a g4 desktop machine running OS X 10.2.3. I have a 1500+ record database. I created a label layout and each label has 4 fields/lines but not all 4 are used for every record. The first and last field in the labels are calculated fields (Name is a concatenation of fname and lname and City/State/Zip is a concatenation of those three fields.
Fields/lines 2 and 3 of the label are street address and apartment #. Under the Layout menu item I chose "edit layouts" then I select my label layout and click "Modify". In the window that appears I check "slide objects left" and "slide objects up". I click ok, and ok again but when I print on either my HPLaserwriter 1200 or on my Epson Stylus color 740 blank lines are printed when ever a field doesn't have anything in it: ie, when there is no apartment # there is a blank line between the street address and the City/State/Zip. My fields do not touch and left edges are aligned and all fields are the same length. If I save the database as an AW 5 document and open it in AW 5.0.4 and print there are no blank lines printed on the labels. Any suggestions? Thanks very much.
