As you know I updated my desktop G4 - 400 mghz to os x - 10.2.3

Prior to the upgrade I was able to use my scanner with Photoshop Elements -
version 1 in classic (operating system 9.2.2). I could "Twain Acquire"
images via the scanner with no problem. I could use the epson smart panel
software in Classic and scan images also with no problem.

Since upgrading to OS X 10.2.3 I cannot access the scanner from within
Classic. When I try I get the following messages:

Cannot Find the Scanner on the Bus.
Please ensure that it is switched on, ready to
scan and that the cables are attached corectly.

I click OK and get the following message:

Could not complete the import command
because there is no scanner installed.

If I start the computer in OS 9, I can scan with no problems.

I also installed Spell Catcher X after I installed Jaguar.

Any clues as to why this is happening?

Oh, after I discovered the problem I ran fsck and repaired disk permissions
and ran fsck again.

Thanks.

What a strange, long, trip it is!

remember: it's not how fast you climb the hill that matters, it's how fast
you go coming down!
