This may be more complicated than I should be fooling with
but here goes...

I want to move some old Word (Mac Word 4e) files from a
Powerbook 190 (OS 7.6 )temporarily to a Gateway Solo. My
husband who is a writer needs to be able to continue to work
on these documents and then we will be moving them back to
one of the Macs--probably not the PB190.
The 190 has an adapter which makes it useable on the
ethernet network via an asante hub.
The Solo has a Ethernet card and I can plug it into the hub
also. I know NOTHING about configuring network settings on
a PC. And not much about it on MAcs--escept that I usually
get things to work.
The main computer on this little network is a 9600 (OS 9.1).

There is also an IMAC (OS 10.1).

I could email these files to the windows machine and then
open them with Word PC 2000 , but we always lose formatting,
pagination, etc. when I do that. And these are 75 page
documents so redoing that stuff is not a nice prospect.

I guess I could do floppies, but that seems a bit
unadventurous...

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Ann Richmond
