Ann, You need special software on either your mac or pc for the machines to talk with one another. PC MacLan on the PC or Dave on the Mac. (If you are running Jaguar this software is unnecessary.) With one pc and multiple macs get PCMacLan. With one mac and multiple pc's get Dave. If you have multiple macs and put Dave on all of them you will need multiple serial numbers, ie you have to purchase Dave for each machine. I don't know if that's true for PCMacLan.
