John

In the past, this problem was tied to a specific version of Internet
Explorer.  It appears that is not the issue in this case.  Locating and
deleting the appropriate preference files for your browsers may help.  If
not, back to the basics.  Run fsck -y, repair disk permissions and if
necessary boot from a Disk Warrior CD and run a full diagnostics.

I can confirm one thing.  This is a non-existent issue for most of us users
so it must be something machine or user specific.
