That would be it... iTunes pulls the CD name, track names, etc. from an 
online database, not from the CD itself. If there's no internet 
connection, you won't get any of that information.

It's amazing how technology changes the way we look at things. A few 
years ago, the first thing I would have considered was a lack of 
connection to the internet. Now, with the increasing availability of 
high-speed internet services, I just assumed the computer was already 
connected and went right on to troubleshooting the network.
