Jane, My general rule. They probably made the files invisible because the DON'T want you messing with them. Many of the ones you listed are "essential" and shouldn't be done away with. Some are databases which CAN be regenerated but why bother if you don't have a specific problem you are trying to solve? The few that I didn't recognize probably take up so little space that trashing them wouldn't net you much, in the event they aren't important.
