I had to update the firmware on the DVD player which came with my  
dual 800 quicksilver... and I had to do it within Virtual PC, because  
there weren't any Mac firmware updaters which I could find. A  
complete pain in the butt. In any case, here was the thread of info I  
followed --- whether it is relevant or not, I'm not sure, but it  
could send you off on a more fruitful search:
