I ran Carbon Copy Cloner to back up my OS folders onto an external HDD.
Half way thru making the disk image of those
files on the external drive, the computer
stopped. The clock stopped. The hard disks
stopped. The mouse moved the cursor, but the
cursor could not klik anything.
I re-started, deleted the incomplete disk image,
ran Disk First Aid on all HDDs (no problems
found), and started Carbon Copy Cloner again.
When I told it to start making the disk image, a dialog box popt up saying:
There was an error during correcting
volume privileges: chown: /Volumes/??/: No such
file or directorWould you like to ignore ethis
error ro stop? [ignore] [stop]
I have run Disk First Aid on all disks, and
TechTool Pro on all but the start-up drive (alas
most likely candidate for the problem).
As I send this, I have told Carbon Copy Cloner to
ignore the problem and proceed. I plan re-install
Panther after I get the start-up stuff backed up.
