Hey folks,

I went back into work, and lo and behold, all the services are
working fine - ssh, http, etc. So, the things that I've learned:

. when at home, hooked up via cable, I cannot use the dyndns address
to hook up to another machine behind the router.
. when things fail at work, remember the simplest solution: something
has been hosed by IT.

All this after only about 6 hours of reading up on ipfw and setting
up firewalls by hand, etc. etc. What a dope!

Thanks for all the input that everyone gave.

Happy New Year!

Bill
