I have a Filemaker 6 database that contains an "email" field that has an individual email address in it and a "description" field that contains a text description of an event. I would like to do a batch email sending the text in the "description" field in each record to the email address in the same record. There are approximately 225 records.
I am trying to avoid having to copy/paste each email address and description one by one into my email program. In searching Filemaker's Help screens, I find a script step called "send mail" that apparently does something very like what I'm want to do. Has anyone used this feature or know of another way to quickly and efficiently broadcast emails from Filemaker, even if it involves exporting the Filemaker records to something else first? I probably would be using OS X's Mail application to do the mailing, although I also have QuickMail and Entourage available if those would work better. Thanks.
