Is this what you're asking for:

System Preferences => Network
Show, Airport (selected)
there are tabs for:

1)TCP/IP
- configure - choices are manually, DHCP w/ manual IP address, DHCP
(selected this one), BootP
- places to input IP address, DNS servers, subnet mask, router, DHCP client
ID, Search Domains

2)Airport
- Join network w/ best signal, join most recently used, join specific
network (selected this one)

Under Utilities:
Airport Setup Assistant
- selected "set up an Airport Base Station"
- Internet access, select cable modem or DSL using static IP or DHCP
- Ethernet access, selected Configure Base Station "Using DHCP" (options for
IP address, subnet mask, router address are grayed out when DHCP is
selected)
- Network Name and password, WEP Key Length (options are 128-bit and 40-bit)
- Base Station Password, use the same or separate.
- Conclusion, "assistant was able to configure ABS..etc."

Airport Admin Utility
- select base station - it scans and previously named network is listed, IP
address is 10.0.1.1
- configure
--Airport, name channel, density multicast rate, enable encryption (WEP)
--Internet,
--- connect using Ethernet (selected), Modem, PPP over Ethernet, AOL
--- Configure Using DHCP (selected), Manually
--- IP address - 169.254.22.120 is grayed out
--- Subnet mask - 255.255.0.0 is grayed out
--- options for inputting DNS servers, domain name, DHCP client ID
--Network, Distribute IP Addresses (checked)
--- Airport client computers, share a single IP address (selected), share a
range of IP addresses

Internet Connect
- configuration, Airport
- network selected
- signal level, bar shows strong signal
- base station ID: (long number)
- Status: connected to the internet via Ethernet

Note: a few times, during the many attempts at configuration, the signal
would
drop and Airport Admin would not see a network during the scan, and Airport
setup could not configure the ABS . It made me think there may be a problem
with the ABS, but then I would go away and come back, and there'd be a
signal. One time I just unplugged the ethane cable from ABS and the signal
returned.
I can't get signal drop to replicate itself, it just happens at random. As
John Robinson said in an earlier post, the problem could just be that the
ABS is defective. I don't remember what the warranty is on the ABS; it was
purchased last Dec.
