Folks, I can tell you this, particularly applicable to OS X volumes. We have a wide array of Apple supplied diagnostic utilities but for repairing directory damage, our techs sing the praises of Disk Warrior as do myself. I'm sorry I can't share what bad experiences I've had with the product because I haven't had any.
And to Alsoft's credit, they didn't rush a half functioning product to market for OS X like Symantec did.
