Hey folks, Here's some more info on the Modem Which Does Not Like Jagwire:
Here are the results of more work: 1. If I set the modem script to either the null 57600 or null 115200 modem script, check the box that opens a 'terminal' window (not the terminal as in Mac OS X), and type the commands that would be used from the Apple 56k v.90 script into the terminal window, the modem responds, dials, and the machine connects perfectly. These null scripts do nothing more than send a single CCL command to the modem. 2. If I interrupt the regular Apple 56k v.90 script before it times out, after it issues the +++ and ath command (hang up), the modem starts responding to the rest of the commands. The secret here is that there is a mysterious "Terminating on signal 15" message in the log window. I haven't been able to figure out what this means, other than it is some system message from internet connect, perhaps. 3. If I put +++ and ath commands at the top of the modem script (as though they were a magical incantation), the modem still does not respond. If anyone has any hints, I'd be much obliged.
