Hey folks, More unix esoterica:
After upgrading to Jaguar (using an update, rather than update/archive or a clean install), when I go to run my prebuilt version of emacs, the application quits, and I see the following in the Console (blank lines added for 'readability') dyld: /Volumes/Valentin/CommonOS/Incoming/Emacs 21.1/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs Undefined symbols: /Volumes/Valentin/CommonOS/Incoming/Emacs 21.1/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs undefined reference to _BC expected to be defined in /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib /Volumes/Valentin/CommonOS/Incoming/Emacs 21.1/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs undefined reference to _PC expected to be defined in /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib /Volumes/Valentin/CommonOS/Incoming/Emacs 21.1/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs undefined reference to _UP expected to be defined in /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib Now, I figured that this dylib was in the wrong place. Nope - it's where it belongs. I've looked out on the web for tips. The only consistent tip I've found is to install the DevTools, which I have (incl. the August update). If I search for libSystem.B.dylib in Google, I get reports of similar problems, but no fixes. Do I need to try to build Emacs from scratch? I've not done this before, so I'm a bit on the antsy side. Thanks for any tips, Bill The next meeting of the Louisville Computer Society will be September 24 For more information, see <http://www.aye.net/~lcs>.
