Alex, thanks, but you probably got my answer in the meantime. And I did 
download the fixer they suggested in Macworld.  It is called :CacheOut 
X . Gee, there are so many cashes to clean out, I had no idea about 
them , and now I dare not do it all before I haven't done any more 
checking.  The utility can be found under : find.macworld.com/0211. It 
is freeware.
