Hey Folks,

In case you'd like something that works (in general) better than
Sherlock for simple searching on the web, Watson has been released for
free use on the Mac by Karelia:

Here's the deal:

Watson was developed for Jaguar. It is one of the best things out there
for looking for info on the web w/o searching. When Panther came along,
Apple took most of the look and feel from Watson and put it into
Sherlock. Never once even mentioned Sherlock as an inspiration. So...
Karelia decided that Watson for the Mac was dead, and sold it to Sun,
who promised a Java (i.e. platform independent) version of it by, oh,
September 2004. Sun instead sat on it, and never developed it. Karelia
thought that this was a waste of a good product, and found a loophole
in their agreement with Sun which allowed them to give away licenses.

Check it out. It is one app I use at least twice every day.

Bill
