Marta, The experts will have to respond, but in the introduction to Tiger they indicated we may eventually get away from the desktop as the place we consider our base. The O.S. will index everything on the computer, so if I typed in your name, and you were in my email, my calendar, my address book, and if I had written you a letter, then by just typing your name I would be presented a list of every instance you appear on my computer, and the program that had your reference.
The results will be instantaneous as it is with Google, it just seems it may be a little more secure as we are dealing with Apple and not another firm.
