You should be able to adjust the size of the photos in iPhoto. Just 
click on eMail in the Control Pane (across bottom) and you should get 
your choice of Small (240x320), Medium (640x480), large or full 
quality. Note you must have a photo or photos selected before you 
click. After selecting the size you want, click on compose and add what 
ever message, also address.
