Hi Dan,

Just drag copy a known good working OS 9.2.2 System Folder from another Mac
to a firewire drive, attach it to your new G4 and drag it over. It should
work.

Subject: MacGroup: Installing OS 9 after X

I just repartitioned a G4's hard drive and installed OS X (Panther) and
used Software Update to update it to 10.3.4. This computer needs to
have OS 9 installed on it to run several applications, but I forgot to
do that first. What's the best/easiest way to install OS 9 now that
I've already got X installed -- or do I need to start over?

Can I use the G4's Software Restore disk to install 9?

Dan
