Thanks for the tip. I looked up and have printed out that article. It 
is helpful, but also raises some other questions, including this very 
essential one:

How well does OS X Server play with networked computers that are still 
using OS 9 (or, in one case, 8)? Everything I've been able to find on 
the Apple site seems to assume that the client computers will also be 
running X. Do Macs running 8 or 9 have full access to the server and, 
at least, all of its file and printer sharing capabilities?
