Hi,
In August Sherry and I attended a wedding in Key West. In today's mail I
received, from the bride, a "DVD-RW" with all the wedding photos. A note
in the DVD case says, "This DVD-RW will play in most new model DVD
players, as well as in computer or laptop DVD Players."
I popped this baby into my G4 Desktop (OS 10.2.6) and got an error message
"DVD player encountered a serious error. The current machine or
system configuration is not supported [-70013]"
I don't know what's going on there! DVD player version 3.2.
Next I put the DVD-RW into my G3 iBook (also OS 10.2.6) and opened the
DVD player (version 3.2) and when I pressed play got a message which said
"not permitted." By the way nothing appeared on the screen other than not
permitted.
Finally I put the DVD-RW into the DVD player attached to my TV. The
player is probably 2-4 years old. When I put it in the player the LED
readout on the player showed VCD. The VC was a paler shade of red than
the D (if that means anything?).
When I pressed play a nice screen appeared with a small image of a
"slide" and the words slide show. BUT, no matter what I did, I could not
get the slide show to play.
So HELP! Please.
And, There are only a handful of files on the DVD-RW. The largest file is
161 MB. Did the bride forget to include the photos? If not, is there
anyway to extract the photos from the dvd? And if the photos are really
there, is there what do I need to play the slideshow?
I've posed a lot of questions, but thanks for wading through all this.
Harry
