try this:
open the terminal and type "cd .Trash"
then type "ls -la"
this should show all the files in your trash - even hidden ones.
Invisible files will show up as .filename
if there are any files - and your sure that you want to remove them type: 
"rm .filename" (replace problem file with filename)
