Downloaded it, installed it according to instructions. When I double-clicked on it, it went into my dock, then promptly disappeared without opening. Repeatedly.
Russ suggested MacHelp>root>enabling the root user. Urged care and caution. Timidly decided to try that. Spent much time, never got to online MacHelp. Maybe my AOL, maybe my stupidity. Back to drawing board. Jerry said he'd had success with BatChmod. Went back to VersionTracker, downloaded that, installed it according to instructions. Double-clicked on it; it went to dock and disappeared -- see iEmpty, above. Is it any wonder I'm nervous about trying to upgrade to Mac 10.4, and what am I doing wrong?
