Hey folks,

Perhaps one of the folks that has to deal with Windows from day to
day could answer this question:

Can sftp servers be set up in Windoze? Here at Bellarmine, they gave
me some web space, and are allowing me to ftp to it. I asked about
sftp (so that I wouldn't have to use something so insecure as ftp),
and was told that "I was thinking 'unix', but they had a windows
network, and that sftp couldn't be set up for windows." This has got
to be hogwash, I would think, but my google searches have not turned
anything up for serving sftp from windoze. Is it really this bad?

Bill
ftp: file transfer protocol -- an old, reliable way to copy files
from one machine to another over the internet.

sftp: secure ftp -- a newer protocol which does ftp in an encrypted
fashion, so that passwords and contents of files cannot be sniffed.

sniffing: listening to network activity and pulling off info bound
for another machine. Ought to be called nettapping.
