However, according to this reply, it sounds like you're just talking about the color of an applications icon. If it has nothing to do with the operation, why be concerned? Anyway, if it is only the color of the icon you're concerned with, couldn't you open up the app's Info window with the purple icon, copy it, then go to the other Info window with the other icon, and paste it in? Or, did they do away with allowing you to make custom icons in OS X and beyond? If you already tried this then don't mind me. I'm only babbling.
